About MediaToolNest

MediaToolNest is a free collection of online tools for everyday video and audio tasks: converting formats, reducing file size, trimming clips and extracting sound. It is built to be fast, private and honest.

Why MediaToolNest exists

Simple media tasks, like getting the sound from a video or making a clip small enough to send, shouldn't require installing software, creating an account, or navigating pages full of misleading download buttons and pop-ups. MediaToolNest offers tools that do one job each, explain clearly what they do, and respect your files.

Who runs MediaToolNest

MediaToolNest is an independent website. It is not affiliated with any software publisher, streaming service, device manufacturer or social network. The tools are developed and maintained by the MediaToolNest team, and our guides are written and reviewed by the MediaToolNest Editorial Team, following our Editorial Policy.

How our tools work

Every tool runs inside your web browser. We use FFmpeg, a widely trusted open-source media engine used by countless applications, compiled so it can run directly on your device. This has three consequences we care about:

• Your files are never uploaded. They are processed on your phone or computer and never reach our servers.
• No accounts and no tracking. We don't need to know who you are to convert a file.
• Honest limits. Because processing uses your device, very large files may be slow on phones. Each tool page says so clearly.

Today, MediaToolNest offers 8 tools:

• MP4 to MP3: Turn an MP4 video into an MP3 audio file.
• Video Converter: Convert MOV and WebM to MP4, or MP4 to WebM.
• Audio Converter: Convert between MP3, WAV, M4A, AAC and FLAC.
• Extract Audio: Save the soundtrack of a video as MP3, WAV or M4A.
• Compress Video: Make a video file smaller and easier to share.
• Trim Video: Cut the start or end of a video in seconds.
• Trim Audio: Keep only the part of an audio file you need.
• Video to GIF: Turn a short video clip into an animated GIF.

Our guides

Alongside the tools, our guides explain the topics behind them: the difference between MP3 and WAV, what bitrate means, why some videos won't play, and how to make files smaller without ruining their quality. They are written to answer real questions clearly, and they are updated when technology or our tools change.

Our principles

• The tool comes first. Every tool page is built around a working tool, not around text or advertising.
• Accurate claims only. We describe what our tools actually do, including their limitations.
• No dark patterns. No fake download buttons, fake countdowns, fake reviews or invented statistics.
• Privacy by design. No uploads, no accounts, no tracking cookies.
• Accessible to everyone. Keyboard navigation, readable text and clear labels on every page.

How MediaToolNest is funded

MediaToolNest is free to use. It does not currently display advertising. If advertising is introduced to support the website, it will be clearly labelled and never placed inside or next to our tools, as explained in our Advertising & Affiliate Disclosure.
