MediaToolNest provides free online video and audio tools. This policy explains how the files you process are handled and what limited information is collected when you visit mediatoolnest.com (the "Website"). In this policy, "MediaToolNest", "we" and "us" refer to the Website and the team that operates it.
In short
- Every tool runs in your browser. Your files are processed on your own device and are never uploaded to MediaToolNest or anyone else.
- No accounts, no sign-up. We do not ask for your name or email address to use the tools.
- No advertising and no tracking cookies.
- We do not sell your personal information.

1. The files you process
All MediaToolNest tools (MP4 to MP3, Extract Audio, Audio Converter, Trim Audio, Video Converter, Compress Video, Trim Video and Video to GIF) process files entirely inside your web browser, using a version of the open-source FFmpeg software that runs on your device.
This means:
- your file is not sent to our servers or to any third party;
- the result is created on your device and saved when you click Download;
- when you close or reload the page, the file and the result are removed from the browser's memory;
- we cannot see, access or recover your files.
The first time you use a tool, your browser downloads the conversion software from our Website. This download contains no information about your files.
If we ever introduce a tool that processes files on a server, we will say so clearly on that tool's page and update this policy before it is launched.

2. Information collected when you visit the Website
We collect as little information as possible. The Website has no accounts, so we do not collect names, email addresses or account information.
2.1 Hosting
The Website is hosted by Hostinger. Like any web host, its servers automatically process the technical data needed to deliver web pages, such as your IP address, the page requested, the date and time, and your browser type. This data is used to deliver the Website, keep it secure and diagnose problems, and is kept in server logs for a limited period.
2.2 Privacy-friendly analytics
We may use Plausible Analytics to understand, in aggregate, how the Website is used (for example, which tools are most popular and whether conversions succeed). Plausible does not use cookies, does not track you across websites and does not store your IP address. The information is aggregated: pages visited, referring website, approximate country, browser, operating system and device type. We also record anonymous tool events: which tool was used, whether processing succeeded or failed, the type of error and a general file-size range (for example "10–50 MB"). We never record file names or file contents.
2.3 When you contact us
If you email us, we receive your email address and the content of your message. We use them only to respond to you.
3. Legal bases for processing (EEA, UK and similar laws)
- Legitimate interests: operating and securing the Website, and measuring its use in an aggregated, non-identifying way. We have assessed that these interests do not override your rights, given the minimal nature of the data.
- Consent: where required by law, for example if advertising is introduced in the future (see section 9).
- Legal obligations: where we must keep or disclose information to comply with the law.
4. What we do not do
- We do not sell personal information.
- We do not build profiles of visitors ourselves.
- We do not make automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects about you.
- We do not share personal information for advertising.

We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety and security of our users, the public or MediaToolNest.
6. International transfers
Our service providers may process data in countries other than yours. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses, the UK International Data Transfer Addendum, adequacy decisions or equivalent mechanisms.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights over your personal information. We honor these rights for all users wherever reasonably possible.
European Economic Area, United Kingdom and Switzerland. You may request access to, correction or deletion of your personal information, restriction of or objection to its processing, and data portability. Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw it at any time. You may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
Canada (including Quebec). You may request access to and correction of your personal information, and withdraw your consent, subject to legal limitations. You may file a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or, in Quebec, with the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec.
California and other US states with privacy laws. You may have the right to know what personal information is collected, to request its deletion or correction, and to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell personal information. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
Brazil. Under the LGPD, you have rights including confirmation of processing, access, correction, anonymization or deletion. You may also contact the national data protection authority (ANPD).
Other countries. If your local law grants you similar rights, contact us and we will respond in accordance with that law.
Because we collect very little information, and our analytics are anonymous by design, we often cannot link data to a specific person. If so, we will explain why we cannot act on a request.

To exercise your rights, email privacy@mediatoolnest.com. We may ask for information to verify your request, and we respond within the time required by applicable law, generally within 30 days.
9. Advertising
The Website does not currently display advertising. If we introduce advertising, we will update this policy and our Cookie Policy before any advertising is shown, and ask for your consent where the law requires it.
10. Security
We protect the Website with encrypted connections (HTTPS), security headers and restricted access to our systems. Because files are processed on your device, they are never exposed to risks on our side.
11. Children
The Website is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. In some countries a higher age applies (for example, up to 16 in parts of the European Union). If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when our tools, service providers or legal obligations change. We will update the "Last updated" date above and highlight significant changes on the Website.
