How to trim a video
- Choose your video (MP4, MOV, WebM or MKV).
- Play the video and click “Use current position” to set the start and end, or type the times.
- Click “Trim video”.
- Download your trimmed clip.
Fast trimming without quality loss
We cut the video without re-encoding it: the original video and audio data are copied as they are. That is why trimming is almost instant and the quality is exactly the same as the original.
Trimming is also the easiest way to reduce file size. Removing unnecessary seconds at the start and end often makes a video small enough to send.

Frequently asked questions
Why does my clip start a little earlier than I chose?
To keep the original quality, we cut at the nearest keyframe before your start time. Most phone videos have a keyframe every 1–2 seconds.
Does trimming reduce quality?
No. The video is not re-encoded, so the quality is identical.
Can I trim a video on my phone?
Yes. Because nothing is re-encoded, trimming is fast even on phones.
Is my video uploaded?
No. Trimming runs in your browser.
